About Sandra Cobena
Sandra Cobena is the Member of Parliament for Newmarket– Aurora, elected in 2025 on a platform of economic discipline, public safety, and affordability. Before entering politics, Sandra built a high-performing career in commercial banking, bringing over a decade of private-sector experience to Parliament.
Born in Ecuador and raised in Canada from the age of 13, Sandra is the product of an immigrant family who built a new life through hard work, sacrifice, and resilience. She carries that same ethos into everything she does.
Sandra holds a degree in Finance and Global Commerce from Western University and earned a Global Executive Master’s in Management from the London School of Economics.
As a member of Junior Team Canada, she participated in international trade missions alongside Prime Minister Stephen Harper, gaining firsthand experience in advancing Canada’s global interests.
A mother of three, Sandra is a passionate advocate for social mobility, opportunity through education, and safe communities. She is a champion of small businesses and a committed public servant who understands that prosperity is earned, not handed down. In Parliament, she brings a sharp financial mind, lived experience, and an unshakable commitment to delivering results for Canadians.
