About Roman Baber
Roman Baber is a former Member of Provincial Parliament and is now Member of Parliament for the riding of York Centre, here in North York.
Roman is a lawyer, called to the Ontario Bar in 2006 and until his election to the Legislature in 2018, practiced commercial and insurance litigation. He attended high school at Mackenzie, obtained a B.A. from York and graduated from law school at Western.
Roman was born and lived in the Soviet Union until age eight. He moved with his family and lived in Israel until age fifteen. In 1995 his family immigrated to Canada, directly to the heart of York Centre at Bathurst and Sheppard.
In 2022 Roman ran for Leadership of the Conservative Party of Canada, finishing Fourth. He was then nominated by Pierre Poilievre to run in the next federal election.
Roman is presently practicing in-house counsel law, primarily instructing litigation. He is an occasional lecturer at an after-school program, engaging high school students on constitutional and criminal law topics.
He is an avid fan of Toronto, subways, and the Raptors.
