OTTAWA, ON – The Honourable Yonah Martin, along with Co-Sponsor, The Honourable Joseph A. Day, tabled Bill S-213, intituled “An Act respecting a national day of remembrance to honour Canadian veterans of the Korean War,” in the Senate Chamber on November 6, 2012.
The enactment of Bill S-213 will designate the twenty-seventh day of July in each and every year as “Korean War Veterans Day” to remember and honour the courage and sacrifice of Canadians who served in the Korean War (1950-1953) and those who performed peacekeeping duties following the armistice of July 27, 1953.
